LAND ART DISPLAY by the Victoria Flower Arrangers' Guild is a contemporary ecological Floral Art/Design medium where larger floral art structures form a harmonious relationship between the natural and found materials used, and their positioning in an outdoor setting. Freedom of expression plays a part in Land Art manifestations, where Floral Art/Design is taken from inside settings to outdoor natural settings.
Basically floral designers use anything and everything, driftwood, dried materials, fresh materials, wire, metal etc., as long as the elements and principles of floral design are adhered to. European and various other countries' floral artists have produced Land Art Shows, but the Victoria Flower Arrangers' Guild is the only Floral Art Association that has accomplished this west of Toronto. A first for B.C. in 2009, now repeated in 2010. Glendale Gardens is a perfect setting for this art medium.
In addition to the artists profiled below, the following members of the Victoria Flower Arrangers Guild are also participating in "Arts & Music" at Glendale: Linda Petch, Ann Gargett. Lynn McIntosh, Shirley Cooke, Margret Doetsch, Ruth D’Hollander, Rosanna Gustafson, Fay Verhagen.
